Empowering Lives
WOVIA has identified a gap in our society. Whereas there are already microfinance institutions, fintech and other lending institutions that have ready cash to lend, there are not many institutions that can provide capacity building, trainings and link women and youth to markets, opportunities and technology. WOVIA is filling this gap through various programmes.
Our Projects
WOVIA has designed various projects that women and youth can plug into and find their way from there. We aim to provide a starting point into a specific line of business that is of interest to each woman
Agribusiness
WOVIA aims to engage women and youth in agricultural activities to create employment and increase incomes. Given that Agriculture remains the number one GDP earner in Kenya and many other African countries, it remains an important source of employment for women and youth.
Fashion & Beauty
Clothing is a key element to promote a woman's dignity. WOVIA aims to provide affordable clothing to all women and their families making them look and feel beautiful. While doing this, women who engage in this also get a source of income and it changes their lives.
Food & Restaurant
Our Food and Restaurant arm aims to aid women utilise their skills, knowledge and strength to create a livelihood through Food. With growing urban populations food and restaurant will be an even more important income earner in the coming years.
Water & Sanitation
The most basic human need, Water has received little attention from relevant stakeholders. WOVIA aims to increase access to Water for drinking, agriculture and for life.
Microfinance
While providing avenues for business and market opportunities, WOVIA also recognises the constant need for finances to enables these start and flourish. WOVIA will partner with key organisations that fund women in a sustainable way.
Books
WOVIA will get into Books as a line of business while partnering with various WOVIA members in the diaspora. It is intended to enable women already in the marketplace add an additional source of income.
